Something important is happening at Berkeley Coachworks.

Not just growth - but transformation.

Following the closure of HPL Prototypes in Coventry, Berkeley has acquired the full assets of the business. This isn’t simply an expansion; it’s a deliberate move to protect critical expertise and bring new depth to our capabilities in advanced prototyping, composite engineering, and specialist manufacturing.

As Chairman Martin Rees puts it:

“This acquisition is about more than growth - it’s about securing capability, uniting exceptional talent, and building a business fit for the future.”

Berkeley Coachworks Ltd, working with composite specialists Carbon ThreeSixty, has developed a fully composite wheel for heavy goods vehicles weighing just 16kg.

That represents a 26kg reduction per wheel compared with conventional steel - delivering a tangible increase in payload capacity without changing the vehicle footprint.

Designed, engineered and manufactured with real-world commercial use in mind.

Technical Specification:

* Size: 11.75 x 22.5 x ET120

* Weight: 16kg

Beyond performance benefits, the new composite wheel also stands out for its striking visual design, proving that innovation and aesthetics can go hand in hand.
